As soon as I got back from the hike I started making a super-sized pavlova
for the "bring a plate" dinner that night. I am very pleased to say that the pav was a success but only just - there
was nothing wrong with the meringue, that was fine. It was the unbeatable cream that was almost my downfall. Nobody
ever told me that in the UK there are different types of cream!!! Thank goodness for Caroline and Mike who went to the
village shop for "whipping cream"! Anyway, I digress...

The evening was a huge success, I am sure Eram would agree. Everyone was
dressed up, there were decorations galore, food to feed an army and enough drink to keep us merry well into the night.
